Ali: (voice-over) "It was my sixteenth birthday. King Midus was giving me my sweet sixteen palace ball. I was so excited...there were a few things that didn't go according to plan."
We pan to see a magnificent palace ball decorated for that of royalty. Several young men and women are dancing, chatting, and having a good time. The place is well-let without the slightest hint of imperfection anywhere. It is your typical storybook fairy-tale palace ball. A few guards are stationed outside a commons room where King Midus, who appears to be having a good day no thanks to his illness, Queen Mia and a just-turned sixteen year-old Ali are conversating inside.
Ali: "So...Uncle Midus, tell me again, why did we have to have my sixteenth birthday palace ball here at Sebastion's Castle?"
King Midus: "Honey, I told you already that King Sebastion is a close personal friend of mine. He was by my side throughout your life. I asked him of this favor."
Ali: "Yeah, I know that part, but I still don't understand why we just couldn't have it back home."
King Midus: "Ali, I am not well. The disease that I was stricken with keeps me from being the magficent King I would like to be, therefore, with our defenses weaken due to my condition, we can't risk an invasion to Mount Sabretooth. Our small fortification would have been preoccupied. Furthermore, we would have been susceptile to an invasion...remember Liiche of the Cold? He is still out there."
Ali: "Yeah, I guess that makes sense."
Queen Mia: "You just go have fun. Evan is waiting for you. Evan is an honorable man and I would like to see you have a good time with him."
Ali: "...yeah, I'll try. (As she is hugging King Midus): I love you, Uncle."
King Midus: "I love you, too, honey."
Ali: (as she is hunging Queen Mia) "I love you, Aunt Mia."
Queen Mia: "I love you, too, dear."
Ali begins to leave the commons area as Queen Mia speaks to her.
Queen Mia: "Oh, have you met Ella's courtier yet?"
Ali: "No, I have not yet had the pleasure."
King Midus: "I have not either and I don't think I'd like to judging from what the other constables have been telling me."
Queen Mia (to King Midus): "Come on, dear, we should meet him. Afterall, Ella was quite insistent on allowing us to invite him."
King Midus: "Ok, we'll meet him later."
Ali exits the commons room. As she is rejoining her ball, she decides to locate Ella since she was brought up. She spots Ella from afar near the dining area of the huge palace ball. She then walks the distance to her sister to be about 10 feet in front of Ella near the serving table.
Ali: "Hey, Ella, I was looking for you."
We see a tall, hot-ass blonde girl trying to finishing her mouthful of food. Ella is not too dissimilar in looks from Ali, but nonetheless, altered from Ali because she is her sister and they are not twins. Ella is 17 years old. One can definately spot a resemblance between the two. Next to her is a young man with his back turned facing the serving tables. He looks to be tall and thin with a medium build and naturally-dark spikey hair with blonde tips at the ends.
Ali: "I haven't, uh...met your friend..."
The young man turns to reveal himself and it is AXEM {duh, do ya think so?} in his very early 20's. He has no facial hair. He is wearing the nicest suit anyone would think he could get ahold of with a golden color stylish-vest over a white dress shirt.
Ella (after she finished chewing her food): "Oh, hi, Ali! Where have you been? I've been looking all over for you! I want you to meet my date, Miah Thorpatrick."
AXEM, who apparantly was not referred to as 'AXEM' back then and was going under a different name, walks over to Ali, takes her hand, lifts it up and kisses the front side of it and says, "Ah, the pleasure is all mine. You are just as beautiful as your sister...well, almost."
At that moment, AXEM had whisked Ella up off her feet and carried her to the dance floor. Ali noticed right off, even back then, that AXEM was kinda brash and cocky. Ali shrugs it off and proceeds to mingle.
Several hours had passed. The ball was a sensation for Ali. Dining, dancing, and debauchery for some. Ali was beat and after all the birthday guests had fleed the building she was heading upstairs to relax. King Midus and Queen Mia decided that in King Midus' weakened condition, that it would be a good idea to stay at King Sebastion's for the night, then return to the mountain castle tomorrow morning. Ali is walking toward her assigned room when she spots AXEM smooching and loving up on Ella down the hall. He takes her by the hand and escorts her into a room and then closes the door. Ali is somewhat disgusted that Ella was allowing herself to succumb to AXEM. Ali, although nauseated from her first impression of AXEM, couldn't help, but feel somewhat attracted to him physically. She shrugs it off and scurries off to her room.
Everyone has a good night's rest. The following morning Ali is suddenly awoken by her Aunt clattering through the door.
Queen Mia: "Ali, Ella is gone! She has dissappeared! She is nowhere to be found!"
Ali (still barely conscious): "Are you sure?"
Queen Mia: "Yes! (sobbing) We searched the castle high and low for her. She wouldn't just run off....oddly enough, her courtier is missing as well."
Ali (hopping up out of bed to better awaken herself): "Aunt Mia, that's it! Her date! Did you ever meet him?"
Queen Mia: "No. Your uncle and I lost track of the time. Did you?"
Ali: "Yeah, I did!"
Queen Mia: "Your description of him will be of massive importance to the search. Your uncle has issued a missing person disspatch throughout the land. Come with me."
Queen Mia leads Ali out of her bed chamber, still in robes and they high-tail it to King Midus' location......
